What is the purpose of a pacifier?

Which pacifier is right for my baby?

The butterfly-shaped shield has special holes that provide extra airflow, minimizing skin irritation. Another common shape is a round pacifier. Thanks to the round shield, the pacifier minimally touches baby's skin, minimizing the risk of skin irritation. Is your little one teething? Consider a dental pacifier. This pacifier is rounded at the top and flat at the bottom. The flat part of the pacifier presses the tongue down, while the rounded side rests against the palate. This stimulates the development of the jaw and tongue muscles.
