Booster seats

A booster seat ensures you can take your child along safely and comfortably in the car. It's suitable for children weighing 22 to 36 kg (50 to 80 lbs) and up to 1.35 cm (5.4 in) tall. The advantage of a booster seat is that it's lightweight and easy to move from car to car. Your child can be secured in the booster seat with the three-point belt. Ideally, use a car seat with a backrest for as long as possible, as this also offers side impact protection. View the complete range of booster seats on this page!

When can your child use a booster seat?

A booster seat can be used for children weighing 22 kg (49 lbs) and a minimum height of 1.25 meters (4'11"). This is from approximately 5 to 6 years old. Booster seat use is mandatory for children up to 1.35 meters (4'3"). Before a booster seat can be used, your child must be traveling in a car seat. Use a car seat with a backrest for as long as possible, as this also offers side impact protection. This provides more protection than a separate booster seat alone.

A booster seat can be a good solution if your child no longer fits properly in a car seat with a backrest. A child must sit in a car seat or booster seat until they are 1.35 cm (4'3") tall. Some children no longer fit properly in a regular car seat with a backrest before they reach this height. The booster seat ensures that your child is properly secured with the 3-point seat belt and that it is positioned correctly over your child. You can be sure the seat belt is properly secured when the diagonal section of the belt runs across your child's collarbone and chest, and the lap belt sits across their hips.

The advantage of a booster seat is that it can easily be moved to another car. It's compact and lightweight. The booster seat can be used in both the front and back of the car.

An Isofix booster seat

Some booster seats are installed loosely in the car, while others can be secured using Isofix. This means the seat is secured in the car using Isofix anchor points. The Isofix system in the car is located between the backrest and the seats. The Isofix booster seat can be attached to these anchor points. This ensures that the booster seat is securely fastened in the car. Another advantage of an Isofix booster seat is that it always stays secure, even when your child is not in it. This means that if you have to brake sharply or have a collision, the seat won't fly through the car.
